One healing step at a time, may we bring better days.

Welcome!

Are you striving for acceptance, connection, and healing? Are you ready to walk over, under, and through the battles you are facing with the hope of better days? Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, chronic stress, trauma, and more, taking that first step is something to celebrate. No human is exempt from having a past and present, as well as their own situation of struggles and joy. Whatever the details of your unique situation may be, you are worthy of understanding your personal narrative, values, relationships, and more so that you can show up to your life in the best ways possible. My approach to counseling is person-centered and psychodynamic, while incorporating how our emotions and physical stressors show up in our everyday living.

Whether I am the right therapist for you or not, I wish you all the best on your path to well-being. - Amber Long (LMHC, LPC)

About Counseling Services

Approach to counseling:

The Past, Present, and Future.

Are you grieving a person, place, or even who you used to be? Do you worry about what the future holds? Are you feeling disconnected in the present?

Conversations that connect the past, present, and future self are an essential part of our counseling process.

It is common in session to explore present issues through the lens of past dynamics, attachment style, goals for the future, and the relationships throughout to build a whole picture.

Mind and Body

Have you ever felt your heart racing from anxiety? Felt sleepy from depression? Physically felt heartbreak?

Research shows that we should not ignore our physical symptoms while healing our mental health struggles. In session, we will try to make connections to bring body awareness to increase self-understanding and promote effective coping strategies that work for YOU. Currently, I am enrolled in Level 1 Training for Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to further my understanding of this and strategize how to bring it into session and help my clients.

Key Relationships

Are you experiencing loneliness? Are you healing from a past relationship? Do you wish you had better boundaries?

There is a lot to learn about ourselves by looking at how we show up in relationships. Whether it be co-working, romantic, familial, friendships, and more, connecting with others in a way that honors our values is essential for a path to wellness. In session, it is common to talk about attachment styles, personal values, boundary setting, healing trauma bonds, and more.
